Eboka Ifeanyi Christian is one of our star employees. A career that may have started seemingly insignificant and small has today become an integral part of Accion Microfinance Bank's success story.
A graduate of the Lagos State University, Ifeanyi joined the Accion MfB team in 2009 as a Trainee Account Officer and through hard work and dedication, has risen and today he is the Branch Manager of our Onitsha Main Branch.
Ifeanyi's story is one of sheer determination, optimism, and a never-say-die attitude. Despite graduating with good grades, the reality of the job market insufficiencies hit him hard, with several job searches yielding no fruit. After those disappointments, he settled for the available; becoming a security officer for a bank in Lagos to take care of himself and his family.
While on this role, he never lost his positive spirit and determination to succeed.
To Ifeanyi, the guard position was an opportunity; a place of visibility, as such he distinguished himself and earned the admiration and attention of staff members. He took up responsibilities and added value even as a support staff. He began to bring copies of his CV with him to work and shared whenever he saw an opportunity to do so. Initially, the responses were not encouraging but Ifeanyi never lost focus.
One a fateful day, he politely met and introduced himself to Emeka Uzowulu (Head, Business Banking, Upcountry) another inspiring Accion MfB team member. Mr. Uzowulu was impressed with the quality of Ifeanyi's CV and shared with HR. Ifeanyi was invited for the entrance test and passed in flying colors!
Ifeanyi continually displays his goal-getting skills, a resilient mindset, and grew over the ranks with his amazing job performance. He became a Commercial Supervisor and he is currently a Branch Manager upcountry.
Today, as one of our bright Branch managers, he continues to inspire his team with his resilience and determination.
His story reflects our mantra “My future is bright” and showcases what can happen when people, teams, and systems put their hearts and minds to achieve great things.
Indeed, nothing is impossible when opportunity meets preparation.
